Introducing the PRO 148, an innovative active DI designed specifically by UNiKA for electric guitars and electric basses, now available at Mooloolaba Music. This high-performance device features a 260KΩ over-impedance input terminal coupled with a specialized isolation transformer that enriches your musical instruments with a wealth of harmonics and overtones. Unlike conventional DI options, the PRO 148 operates as a single-channel active DI box powered by +48V phantom power, eliminating the need for traditional 9V batteries. This design enables seamless integration with a mixer or an external phantom power supply, allowing for shared power between the power supply circuit and output signal line—no extra power cord needed. An indicator for the +48V power source is conveniently located on the top cover, while the circuit utilizes a British OEP PT-4 pulse transformer for enhanced performance.
Equipped with a built-in UNiKA-PROTM EI30A10E 1+1:1+1 isolation transformer, the PRO 148 boasts a specially designed copper foil layer alongside a dedicated ground layer, ensuring a high signal-to-noise ratio and dynamics while preventing unwanted leakage from radio frequency and ground interferences. This makes it particularly well-suited for electronic instruments, recording studios, and fixed installation projects that utilize mixers.
The PRO 148 also features a balanced/unbalanced combo socket at the input and a TRS through output, providing musicians the convenience of routing the direct signal to their instrument amplifiers. Additionally, with a 0/-20dB attenuation switch and an LED indicator, it accommodates both high and low impedance audio signals effectively. To eliminate ground noise quickly, the output terminal includes a GND/LIFT button.
