Laura Caitlin Jensen - Singing Lessons

Laura Caitlin Jensen is a highly experienced Vocal Teacher and Professional Vocalist based on the Sunshine Coast. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Popular Music & Performance from JMC Academy in 2011, Laura has spent over 14 years teaching voice across a number of respected schools on the Sunshine Coast, while also building a successful private teaching studio, based in Currimundi.

Throughout her teaching career, Laura has supported students through AMEB and ANZCA examinations, Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod (with students achieving 1st and 2nd places), stage and musical performances, television appearances (Creative Generations), and acceptance into tertiary music degrees at institutions such as WAAPA. Her students have also gone on to secure professional performance opportunities with Disneyland, Universal Studios and cruise lines. Alongside teaching, Laura has enjoyed a 16-year professional performance career, appearing in musical theatre productions such as The Wedding Singer, self-produced stage shows (ROYAL), cover bands (Duology), weddings and private events, major corporate and charity events (including Riverstage, Brisbane City Hall and Cure Brain Cancer), UQ Jazz Big Band, festivals (French Festival, Brisbane Festival), and screen work (Gumtree Australia x Jason Dundas – Getaway). Most recently, she has been engaged as a feature solo vocalist at events across the Sunshine Coast, performing powerful and expressive repertoire spanning artists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Wicked.

Laura is incredibly passionate about utilising her years of industry experience to mentor aspiring vocalists of all ages, whether they choose to pursue a career in music or simply sing for the pure joy of it. She prides herself on her extensive knowledge of vocal technique, physiology and anatomy, and vocal styles including Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Jazz, and her ability to teach this complex skill in a clear and digestible way for all learning styles and ability levels, from beginner to advanced. Laura places the utmost importance on building strong rapport with every student and creating a safe, supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to succeed, make mistakes, and challenge themselves to be the best they can be.

Soundwave Studio Music School - Singing

Start playing modern music in a fun and easy way. I teach Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, and Singing in a professional sound studio right here in Mooloolaba. Learn how to be a musician, not just an instrument player. Understand how famous artists make their songs and how to play them on your own and with me as accompaniment. I’ll teach you basic music theory to help you create your own musical patterns and record them on simple GarageBand software. My sessions are very engaging for anyone with a musical passion even if you have no experience. I place a strong focus on drum rhythm plus free thinking to start writing your own musical ideas/songs. I have played music for over 30 years and have performed with great Australian artists such as Mental as Anything and The Angels plus I’ve taught local band Nana’s Pie their craft in their early years. I take the time to find out where the student is at with their current musical progress and take steps to introduce them to the basics. With introverts this is the chance for them to break out of their shell and with extroverts it is an opportunity to harness the energy.
Tuition for drumming, both rudimentary and rock kit. Also basic tuition for acoustic and electric guitar and some piano/keyboard. Training in Music Computer Software also possible. Available any week day from 2pm until 7pm. Lessons usually an hour, sometimes half an hour for younger students.
Experience Private training on Sunshine Coast for 15 years, also some training at Montessori School in Sippy Downs, Current Blue Card Holder.

Jemma Michael Music Singer/Songwriter Piano and Vocals

Jemma is an experienced songwriter, and performer in live music, musical theatre, film/TV, radio and has headlined as a solo musician at many private functions, winery residencies, art show openings, hotels in Melbourne and charity events.
