The Sonor Aritst Tineo Snare Drum is a high end German Made snare for professional use in the studio and on stage. A noble shell made from beech provides the sound and this 13" Artist Snare is also great to look at.
An elaborate shell made from beech is the base of this exclusive snare drum. A total of 27 plies of this hard wood are turned into a perfectly round shell while the outerply is not made from beech but from the Indian Apple "Tineo" wood which gives this snare its distinguished look. The shell has a total thickness of 26mm with a classic 45 degree bearing edge on both sides.
The Snare is tuned with steel hoops and 8 tuning rods per side. The lugs feature offset alignment and thereby create the Sonor logo. The 24 strand steel snare wires are attached and adjusted with the help of the patented Dual Glide System. A special feature of this throw off is a mechanism that allows you to detach the wires by pressing a button without having to remove the wires from the strainer/butt side and therefore allowing you to keep the same tension when making Snare Side head changes.This feature saves a lot of time since you do not have to readjust and re-tune the snare wires after changing the head.
The Heads for the Sonor instruments come from the leading Remo brand. Both Batter and Reso heads are single ply and have medium strength. Transparent reso head and a white, coated batter head.
The instruments of the Sonor Arist series are created in close cooperation with some of the best drummers in the world. The product range covers a wide selection of individual models, optimised for various tasks. This particular model is great for funk and fusion as well as a wide range of styles.
