Introducing the latest addition to Mooloolaba Music, the Revv G4 Red Channel Liquid Distortion Pedal.
This high-gain distortion pedal offers an organic and responsive playing experience, perfect for musicians who appreciate a rich low end and want to prolong their solos effortlessly. Its exceptional smooth saturation and chewy character cater to a diverse range of musical styles and applications. The revised V2 circuit prominently features enhanced mids, ensuring clarity remains intact even when you opt for a scooped tone. Additionally, it provides greater versatility in lower gain scenarios, making it easier than ever to transition smoothly from subtle sounds to bolder tones, particularly when adjusting your guitar's volume knob.
When designing the Red channel as opposed to the Purple channel, we concentrated heavily on the nuances of feel. While both channels serve up high gain capabilities, each presents distinct tonal characteristics with notable differences in the high end and mids. The Purple channel is designed for fast attack, whereas the Red channel delivers a more compressed, smoother tone. This focus allows the sound to evolve naturally. Beyond its reputation for modern rock rhythms and vibrant lead tones often associated with a "bubbly neck pickup," the G4 has garnered a devoted following among players who appreciate its spongy feel and colorful lower midrange, particularly when used with Aggression off for classic rock and blues.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience its features firsthand; reach out to Mooloolaba Music today.
The Red Channel Revv's G-Series pedals bring the classic essence of all-analog ‘amps-in-a-box’ to your pedalboard, inspired by the channels of our prestigious Generator 120 MK3 amplifier. The G4 specifically embodies the Red fat high gain channel, presenting itself as the powerful counterpart to the Purple channel. If the G3 is a scalpel, the G4 is a sledgehammer, delivering an abundance of gain and rich low-end response. It's perfectly suited for creating scooped rhythm tones, producing round and smooth solos, and achieving chewy crunch tones that will elevate your sound.
The Technical Details With an impressive gain range, the G4 encourages players to experiment with settings that best suit their style. Don’t hesitate to set the Gain knob lower if it resonates with your playing. If you plan on boosting the G4 with an overdrive, you can run the Bass high, but many players using humbuckers find a sweet spot between 9:00 and 12:00. This performance-driven all-analog pedal operates seamlessly with traditional isolated 9-volt center-negative power supplies, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Three Voices The G4 offers the versatile 3 Aggression voices drawn from our Generator tube amplifiers. In Red mode, it provides maximum distortion and an effortless feel that many lead guitarists depend on. Blue mode excels at delivering thick wall-of-sound rhythm tones. Interestingly, with the switch off, the G4 shines as a low to medium gain "cranked amp" old-school overdrive, thanks to its excellent bass response and smooth voicing.
Authentic Tone Since the debut of the original G3 in 2018, our amp-voiced overdrive pedals have garnered a dedicated following. We strive not only to create pedals that replicate the sound of our amplifiers but also to ensure they capture the same playing feel. Designed to complement an array of amplifiers and modeling setups, Revv’s G-Series pedals are the ideal way to infuse boutique amp tone into any rig, enhancing your musical journey.
