With a few key modifications, this amp features a Bright switch that unleashes an extra high-end chime, essential for a multitude of genres. While we refer to these tones as 'clean,' the D25 JL boasts a broad gain range that can introduce a crunchy edge while maintaining unity. Additionally, it takes cues from D-style amps, providing midrange character that consistently cuts through the mix.
Joey's Custom Mods
Tailored to accommodate Joey's playing style, the D25 JL delivers a tight low end and fast attack, ideal for handling numerous pedals and effects. This amp includes voicing changes that produce a warm yet clear sound. Although the concept of playing slide in Open C with 19-65 gauge strings may appear niche, many musicians have reported their appreciation for the midrange qualities of Joey's custom voicing, which excels at producing slightly dirty tones.
