Description

Hagstrom Orsa Series Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Hagstroms Orsa series is named after a town in the beautiful forested lake district near the original Hagstrom factory in Sweden.

Ovangol is a material with the appearance and density of rosewood. Hagstrom has selected this material because it is safely harvested from managed forests and fully compliant under all of the CITES endangered hardwood regulations. When married to a solid Sitka spruce top Ovangol produces the warm, full spectrum sound associated with rosewood.

The Orsas body, fingerboard and headstock are exquisitely bound with hard Maple, creating a refined accompaniment to the rich colors of the Ovangol back and sides. A Maple heel cap completes the elegant incorporation of organic materials into the ornamental design of the guitar.

A fingerboard and bridge made of our unique Resinator material, with the density, hardness, and sophisticated texture of ebony, contribute a level of tonal articulation usually found only in much more expensive instruments. Fishmans ISYS pickup and preamp round out the package with authentic and expressive amplification support.

Hagstrom Acoustics
Dalarna is a historical province located in central Sweden, home to the town of lvdalen where Albin Hagstrm established an accordion factory in 1925, and where Hagstrom guitar production began in the 1950s. A region steeped in folklore and with a rich tradition of art and craftsmanship, it is a source of inspiration for Hagstroms acoustic guitars. In homage to the birthplace of Hagstrom guitars, we have adopted local names from around the region for our acoustic series: Siljan, Mora, Efldalia, and, of course, Dalarna.

Each model has been carefully developed to produce a unique tone with the help of hand-selected and aged timbers, and traditional body designs such as Dreadnought, Grand Auditorium, and Concert. A feature common to all Hagstrom acoustic guitars is the incorporation of our unique Resinator material into both fingerboards and bridges. The consistency, density, and stability of Resinator wood is ideally suited to the acoustic guitar, and contributes to the rich sonic fingerprint of Hagstrom acoustics.

Beautifully designed cosmetic features such as headstocks, rosettes, tuners and other details, together with the finest of materials and Hagstroms design innovation creates a range of acoustic guitars that are a fitting tribute to the legacy started nearly a century ago in Dalarna by Albin Hagstrm.

ORSA STANDARD FEATURES:
Orsa series guitars use Ovangol which is a material with the appearance and density of rosewood. Hagstrom has selected this material because it is safely harvested from managed forests and fully compliant under all of the CITES endangered hardwood regulations. When married to a solid Sitka spruce top Ovangol produces the warm, full spectrum sound associated with rosewood. .

Resinator Wood
Resinator wood is a wood composite material that is both more uniform in density and more stable than any standard wood product. These characteristics eliminate dead spots or "wolf tones" sometimes associated with conventional wood fingerboards.
Resinator wood has an articulate sound similar to high quality ebony, but without any of the problems associated with ebony. It provides a stable and clear tone, and also adds higher overtones and harmonics which uniquely detail each note. Like our H-Expander truss rod, Resinator wood is a major contributor to the distinctive "Hagstrom tone".

Hagstrom Machine Heads
Hagstrom models use 18:1 or 15:1 gear ratio machine heads based on our own designs to insure accurate tuning. Viking and HB series basses feature machine heads with a 17:1 gear ratio.

Fishman ISYS+ 301
All Hagstrom acoustic-electric models are equipped with Fishmans professional quality ISYS 301 Plus preamp and Sonicore transducer system. Advanced features such as a built-in autochromatic tuner and Phase adjustment control provide the perfect support for Hagstroms unique acoustic voice.
