Mooloolaba Music is excited to introduce the Gibson ES-335 60s model, an exceptional choice for musicians who desire a guitar that combines versatility with modern build quality, taking inspiration from the iconic designs of the 1960s. This instrument captures the essence of a classic era, making it an ideal companion for a wide range of musical styles.
This guitar showcases the refined characteristics reminiscent of the early 1960s ES-335 models. Its semi-hollow, thinline body is constructed from a durable mix of three-ply maple, poplar, and maple, featuring a solid maple centerblock that significantly enhances sustain while minimizing feedback issues. To add a stylish flair, the body is elegantly framed by single-ply cream binding on both the top and back.
Similar to the vintage 60s models, the mahogany neck is designed with a SlimTaper profile, allowing for a faster and sleeker playing experience compared to the chunkier Rounded C profile found on the ES-335 50s. The rosewood fretboard is bound, equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, and features small block acrylic inlays that reflect the classic aesthetic of the 60s. On the headstock, premium Grover® Rotomatic tuners with milk bottle buttons ensure that your tuning remains stable, complemented by a Graph Tech® nut. The headstock also showcases an exquisite mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay.
At the bridge, the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic system, combined with an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, not only boosts sustain but also allows for precise adjustments in action height and string intonation, enabling musicians to finely tune their setup to their exact preferences.
The tonal prowess of the ES-335 60s comes from its dual calibrated T-Type humbucker pickups, which are equipped with Alnico 5 magnets. These pickups are celebrated for their rich, iconic Gibson T-Top humbucker sound. Each pickup features individual hand-wired 500k volume and tone controls, paired with a three-way pickup selector toggle switch, providing a broad range of tonal options that the ES-335 is well-known for.
Finally, the vintage-inspired design is completed with a 60s-style, five-ply pickguard and black Top Hat knobs adorned with reflectors and dial pointers. You can choose from beautiful finishes in Vintage Burst, Sixties Cherry, and Dark Walnut, all coated in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. To safeguard this treasure, a Gibson hardshell case is included. If you have a preference for the slender neck profile and classic visuals of the beloved 60s-era ES-335 models, this guitar is undoubtedly the one for you.
