Description

Mooloolaba Music is excited to introduce the Gibson ES-335 60s model, an ideal instrument for musicians who appreciate a versatile guitar that seamlessly merges modern craftsmanship with design cues drawn from the classic guitars of the 1960s.

The ES-335 60s draws upon the signature characteristics seen in the early-1960s ES-335 editions. This model features a semi-hollow, thinline body constructed from a three-ply blend of maple, poplar, and maple. At its core lies a solid maple centerblock which enhances sustain while significantly minimizing feedback. Accentuating its elegant appearance, the body showcases single-ply cream binding along both the top and back edges.

Incorporating the essence of the original 60s ES-335, this guitar boasts a mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile—slimmer and faster than the more robust Rounded C neck found on the ES-335 50s. The rosewood fretboard, adorned with binding, includes 22 medium jumbo frets and small block acrylic inlays, echoing the aesthetic of the 60s models. The headstock features premium Grover Rotomatic tuners with milk bottle buttons, working in conjunction with the Graph Tech nut to ensure stable tuning. Adding to its refined look, the headstock is embellished with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay.

On the other side, the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge combined with an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece not only boosts sustain but also allows for customizable adjustments regarding action height and individual string intonation, granting players the opportunity to fine-tune their setups to their precise preferences.

The sonic character of the ES-335 60s is driven by a pair of calibrated T-Type humbucker pickups featuring Alnico 5 magnets, celebrated for their iconic Gibson T-Top humbucker tones. Each pickup connects to separate hand-wired 500k volume and tone controls, complemented by a three-way pickup selector toggle switch, providing an impressive array of tonal options that the ES-335 is renowned for.

Completing its vintage-inspired aesthetic, the guitar includes a 60s-style five-ply pickguard, along with black Top Hat knobs that feature reflectors and dial pointers. It is offered in a selection of finishes, including Vintage Burst, Sixties Cherry, and Dark Walnut, all in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. To enhance your purchase, a Gibson hardshell case is included. This model is a perfect choice for those who favor the slimmer neck profile and classic details of the beloved 60s-era ES-335 guitars, beloved by players for over six decades.
