Description

Teaming up yet again, Epiphone and the Gibson Custom Shop have collaborated to create an authentic replica of the Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V guitar designed by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich. At the time it was launched in 1963, the Firebird was Gibson’s first neck-through-body model, and subsequently went on to be used by a wide range of players for a variety of different musical genres, including blues legend Johnny Winter, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, to name a few.

The Epiphone 1963 Firebird V delivers vintage Firebird specifications at an accessible price, and includes a 9-ply neck through mahogany and walnut body, with mahogany wings on the body flanking the neck through strip. The headstock features Kluson planetary geared “banjo” tuners anchoring the strings to the headstock, while an Epiphone ABR bridge and newly redesigned Maestro Vibrola with engraved Epiphone logo securing the strings down at the other end. The electronics are premium grade and include Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitors, and a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector toggle switch and 1/4” output jack, giving this outstanding replica not only the look, but also the sound of a classic Firebird V Maestro.

An Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom hardshell case is also included.
