The New Player Plus Range from Fender arrives to huge applause and ripping guitar solos. Dubbed as an upgrade from the original Player range from Fender, but definitely offers higher-specs that make it perfect for taking on the road, gigging or enjoying a long-life.
Stratocasters, Telecasters, Precision Basses, and Jazz Basses are among the guitars made in Mexico. There are also some new finishes across the board, such as the vibrant Tequila Sunrise and the dark and gloomy Silver Smoke. These two new finishes are the most eye-catching, since they are gradients from one colour to another that run the length of the body. Vintage White and Aged Candy Apple Red are two of the most conventional Fender finishes.
The range features some new finishes and pickups. Rather than a replacement for the standard Player series models, the Player Plus instruments offer a more high-performance experience. Shared specifications across all the guitars in the range include a 12-inch-radius fretboard with rolled edges, as well as a new range of Player Plus Noiseless single-coil pickups.
The Player Plus Stratocaster appears to be a conventionally-spec'd Strat at first glance. Three single-coil pickups and a two-point vibrato are present, but the guitar also has some more contemporary additions. The Modern C-shaped neck has a relatively flat 12-inch radius as opposed to a standard Stratocaster's 7.25-inch radius. The pickups are the aforementioned Player Plus Noiseless single-coils. Additionally, a push-pull tone pot allows users to move the neck pickup to positions one and two for a sound that is more closer to the middle position on a Telecaster. Finished in either Three-Colour Sunburst, Olympic Pearl, Aged Candy Apple Red, Tequila Sunrise, or Opal Spark.

This guitar has a Player Plus humbucker in the bridge and has hardware that is similar to the ordinary Stratocaster's. A push-pull tone control can be used to split this for the traditional single-coil bridge-pickup sounds. Again, Player Plus Noiseless single-coils are used for the neck and middle pickups. Finished in either Three-Colour Sunburst, Belair Blue, Cosmic Jade, or Silverburst.

The Player Plus Telecaster has two Player Plus Noiseless single-coils that may be operated in series or parallel thanks to a push-pull tone pot. The guitar's neck is once more a Modern C-shape with a 12-inch radius, and its bridge is a six-saddle Telecaster hardtail with block steel saddles. Finished in either Three-Colour Sunburst, Cosmic Jade, Silver Smoke, or Aged Candy Apple Red.

A middle pickup is added to the Tele platform in the Nashville Telecaster, enabling both more classic Tele tones and Stratocaster-style sounds. The neck pickup is added to positions one and two of the push-pull tone control, making it function similarly to the Player Plus Stratocaster. Finished in either Three-Colour Sunburst, Butterscotch Blonde, Opal Spark, or Aged Candy Apple Red.

New Player Plus PJ pickups with a Jazz Bass single-coil in the bridge and a split P-Bass pickup in the middle are featured on the Player Plus Precision Bass. To better accommodate various playing styles and rigs, the bass incorporates a three-band active EQ that can be switched between active and passive modes. It has a Fender HiMass bass bridge as its bridge. Finished in either Silver Smoke, Cosmic Jade, Three-Colour Sunburst, or Olympic Pearl.

Similar to the P-Bass, the Active Jazz Bass has a three-band EQ that can operate in passive as well as active modes. It also has a pair of Noiseless Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. Its neck has a 12-inch radius, curled edges, and a Modern C form. Once more a Fender HiMass bass bridge serves as the bridge.The five-string version comes finished in either Three-Colour Sunburst, Cosmic Jade, Opal Spark, or Tequila Sunrise.
