Written for ages 5 and 6, My First Piano Adventure® captures the child's playful spirit. Fun-filled songs, rhythm games and technique activities develop beginning keyboard skills.
The level A and B Lesson Books include CDs for listening and play-along as well. This young beginner course leads into Level 1 of basic Piano Adventures®.
My First Piano Adventure® Level A introduces the keyboard, note values, and pre-reading. Level B introduces the grand staff and steps on the staff.

We're delighted to share with you My First Piano Adventure and we appreciate your interest in this new piano curriculum for young ages.
With students at age six or less, piano teaching becomes an adventure for both the child and the teacher. We've set aside our seriousness and inhibitions to join the child's world in a playful exploration of music and the keyboard. Through imagery, metaphor, and a diverse world of sound, we seek to develop a foundation of aural perception, eye tracking, and physical coordination. There is special opportunity to develop perceptual ability at a young age. Skills unfold while we engage the child's inherent love of music.
Some may recall the adoption of our daughter Vivian from China several years ago. As you might guess, Vivian has been an inspiration for many songs and activities. Quite frankly, this course would not exist without her role. So we thank our daughter, not only for leading the children's voices on the CDs, but for engaging her parents on this teaching adventure.
Remember that music lessons for the young are activity-based. Some songs and activities engage the child wholeheartedly. Celebrate these. Repeat them from week to week so as to glean all their capacity for musical development. In many cases, adding a variation will provide fun and challenge.
